Climbing Ecuador Ilinizas

Ilinizas North

Prehistorically, they were one volcano but today the two peaks are

separated by a saddle of about 1km in width. Both peaks offer some

of the more enjoyable climbing in Ecuador. For the hiker or soft climber,

the North peak is a truly fun climb with some heart- stopping scrambles

thrown in. South peak has experienced some deglaciation changes induced

by global warming, now affecting its ice conditions. South Peak is thus

reserved for experienced ice climbers and expertise in ice techniques is requested.

The South peak provides several challenging and demanding routes as well. If you are unsure as to

if this trip suits you, please contact us for advice prior to booking.
